 Is garlic for yeast infection cure effective? Garlic has been proven in scientific studies to have strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activities. Clinical trials show that it can kill off Candida albicans, the fungus directly responsible for causing yeast infections. Moreover, garlic can be applied to the affected areas as well as taken by mouth to help fight off candida infections. There is evidence that garlic acts as an immune system booster. This may also explain why it is effective in fighting off yeast. 
Taken by mouth... If you like
garlic, eat a clove of garlic once or twice daily. If you don't like
the taste or smell, you can choose garlic tablets instead. This way,
you get all the health benefits of garlic without the nasty taste or
odour.
Applied to the skin... Garlic oil or
the juice from fresh squeeze garlic cloves can be applied directly onto
the skin twice daily. As well, you can simply cut a small piece of
garlic and rub it onto the infected areas.
Inserted in the vaginal... Finely cut up
cloves of garlic and wrap enough of them in a cheese cloth about the
size of a typical tampon. Insert this into the vagina and leave inside
for about an hour and remove. Do this twice daily until the symptoms go
away.
Commercially made garlic pills can be inserted in the vagina but check to make sure that they contain only natural ingredients. You can also insert garlic cloves directly into the vagina each hour to get relief from symptoms as well. Depending on how severe the yeast infection is, the cure may take upwards of a week. The good news is that the symptoms and discomfort could go away in a day or two. But it is important to continue the treatment for at least a week to 10 days to ensure a complete cure.
