Remedies for Dermatitis
What are some
useful home remedies for dermatitis?
Many people who suffer from skin problems are looking for home and
herbal remedies as a treatment option. Many of these options are
helpful in giving relief from the itching and discomfort. As well,
there will be less
chance of side effects not to mention being relatively cheap.
Skin
disorders are wide spread around the world. Dermatitis is a very common
skin disease and scientists have not discovered what the causes are.
These skin conditions include eczema, discoid dermatitis, heat rash,
perioral dermatitis and contact dermatitis.
Prescription
steroid
creams and ointment are extensively used to treat dermatitis but they
have side effects from long-term use. These include absorption of the
steroid into the body and permanent
thinning of the skin. Herbal and natural remedies do not have any of
these side effects and they are a good first choice.
Here are some home remedies for dermatitis that you can try:
Coconut Oil
Applying
coconut oil to the skin will help to moisturize it. Some people
claim that using coconut oil can help make skin pores less visible and
will eventually cause them to close. It will also make your skin look
healthier and reduce dark spots.
You can apply coconut oil two to three times daily.
Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
Apple
Cider Vinegar (ACV) is known to help with simple cases of skin problems
such as dermatitis, eczema, discoid dermatitis, and heat rashes.
It may also work for contact dermatitis as well.
Dilute ACV
with distilled or filtered water and apply to the face three times
daily. Also ACV can improve the complexion of the skin.
Honey
Honey
can be applied to the affected areas. It is known to help because it
contains properties that can fight off bacterial infections that lead
to some dermatitis. Apply a thin layer of honey onto the affected areas
twice daily.
Salt Solution
Make
a paste of table salt with warm water. Apply over the affected areas to
help reduce itching. Use it regularly and it will take away the
discomfort and save you a lot of money as well.
Garlic
Garlic,
eaten or used as a poultice is very helpful for dermatitis sufferers.
It is known to have potent antibacterial properties. Including garlic
in your daily diet can help to eliminate bacteria that cause dermatitis
as well as make your skin healthier.
