How to Stop Coughing

how to stop coughing manFind out how to stop coughing using natural cough remedies. Coughing can be more than annoying. It can be inconvenient, embarrassing and painful if the cough gets out of hand or happens at the wrong time.

Coughing can be voluntary (which you can control) and involuntary (which you cannot control). Often when something irritating stimulates cough receptors found in many places of the airway and lungs, it sends a message to the cough center in the brain. This will trigger muscles that cause you to cough.

A cough may produce mucus but that is not always the case. Coughing up phlegm may indicate a bacterial infection if it is greenish or yellowish in color (but may not always be the case).

Usually an infection by a virus or bacteria may be responsible for causing the cough but other times, medication use, smoking, asthma and allergies can cause this annoying problem.
