Macular
Degeneration Prevention with Omega-3's in Fish Oil

It is known that omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil can slow down the
development of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) that leads to
vision loss. AMD is the leading cause of blindness in older adults in
many parts of the world. In United States alone, there are 1.75 million
citizens with this vision problem.

A recently competed study involving 1,837 volunteers shows that taking
getting more omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish oil) reduces the chance
of progression to severe forms of AMD by 30% over a 12 year period.
Fish oil is known to have anti-inflammatory properties that would help
with AMD and this study further confirms this fact.
