What
experts say about them |
Fluids
(Preferably water) |
(What's this?)
No,
water won't cure hemorrhoids, but if you don't get enough of this and
your body is in a state of dehydration, your stool will be more
solid.
Also,
eating a high fiber diet (great for preventing constipation) without
drinking enough fluids could cause the stool to be hard. Avoid caffeine
containing fluids (coffee or cola) when possible as they can be
dehydrating.
Dose:
Drink 8 cups of fluids daily.

Fiber / Psyllium

Introduce fiber into your diet slowly and gradually. A diet high in
fiber prevents constipation.
Dose:
Get 25 to 40 grams of fiber in your diet or use fiber
supplements.
|
| Inulin |

Clinical
studies shows that inulin reduces constipation significantly. Similar
to fiber, insulin is not absorbed and doesn't have any calories. It
helps to increase bulk and works much like what fiber does.
Unlike
regular fiber which does not dissolve when placed in water, inulin
completely dissolves in water. It is tasteless and odourless and easily
mixes with your regular foods or drinks.
Dose:
Take 20 to 40 grams daily.
