Tea Tree Oil for Ringworms - Does It Work?
by Tom
Several clients asked if tea tree oil for ringworms really works. Everyone wants to have spotless skin now that summer is out. Here's what scientific evidence tells us.
Tree tree oil is an effective antiseptic liquid that kills bacteria, ringworms (fungus or yeast infections) and even viruses to a varying degree.
Lab and animal studies show that it does work as claimed. There's are less studies done in humans, but the ones done show that it can even kill toenail fungus, although it takes upwards of six months.
Why is that important? Toe nail fungus is the same fungus that causes ringworms. But of greater significance, toe nail fungus is one of the hardness yeast infection to get rid of! So if it works for toenail fungus, it's probably going to work for ringworms.
Apply diluted tea tree oil (see below for the link to dilution ratios and methods) to the ringworms twice daily for up to 14 days. Longer treatment may be required depending on how severe the infection is.
